Advanced Research in Networking. Lab Director: Prof. Doan Hoang
The networking lab is located in Building 10.4.240 and houses equipment for experimenting with network and router related research. State of the art equipment includes: Nortel Passports 8600 series routers, Norte Accelar 1100 series routers, Alteon Web Switch, Alteon SSL Accelerator, Red-M Bluetooth/GPRS server (Red-Access), an IBM Blade Server (with 8 servers), e-Health Server and various wireless routers interconnected into an ARN intranet.

The Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems lab consists of a group of high performance working stations which are virtualised as a private cloud. It serves as a platform for conducting, evaluating and improving various innovative research and development in the area by academic staff, PhD and master students as well as industry partners.
Computer Vision and Recognition. Lab Director: Prof. Sean (Xiangjian) HeThe computer vision and recognition lab is located in Building 10.4.419 and hosts equipment for image and video acquisition & analysis: 3 servers with large file storage and camera drivers, 2 Sony XCD-X710CR cameras, 1 high-resolution Basler camera and 1 high-frame rate Basler camera; plus tripods, illuminators, and various lenses.

The mHealth lab in Building 10 CS department comprises of equipment for mobile ubiquitous computing experiments. State of the art equipment includes mobile devices, Bluetooth networks, WiFi networks, wireless medical sensors, Mote sensors, and servers.
Surveillance. Lab Director: Prof. Massimo PiccardiThe Surveillance Lab is endowed with state-of-the-art equipment for video surveillance applications including cameras with specially high frame rate (Mikrotron EoSens MC1365, capable of up to 40,000 frame/s), very high resolution (ProSilica GC2450), colour stereo (Point Grey Research BumbleBee2), pan-tilt-zoom (Sony SNCRX550PBC, 360 degrees endless rotation ) and top-end servers. Top-notch! The Surveillance Lab is located in room 4.405 in Building 10.
Visualization. Lab Director: A/Prof. Mao Lin HuangThe visualization lab currently is equipped with a number of Large Display devices to conduct an ARC discovery project, and a Capital Market CRC project in visual analytics of financial data. It will soon be equipped with Multimodal interaction devices, multimedia equipments, user interface equipment to facilitate the on-going and coming visualization projects.
